Office of the President
Republic of Palau

Your Excellency

It is my great honour to write and thank you for the
kind and encouraging words that you provided on the
30″‘ anniversary of the Pacific Islands Forum
Fisheries Agency.
Indeed, the FFA Members have much to celebrate for
their achievements in the last thirty years. This is
testimony to the strength of our countries through
their cooperation to address common issues and will
see us through the challenges that continue to face us.
The vision of our Leaders that our people enjoy the
highest levels of social and economic benefits
through the sustainable development of our fisheries
resources continues to be at the forefront of our FFA
Strategy and Work Programme;
I applaud Your Excellency for your wisdom. alongside
other Pacific Forum Leaders at the 40` meeting in
Cairns last week, in reiterating this overarching
goal to ensure the maximization of returns and their
sustainable conservation and management of fisheries
resources as they are fundamental to the long-term
socio-economic wellbeing and stability of the region.
I sincerely thank you, the people and Government of
Palau for your continued cooperation
and support for our work together.

Yours sincerely,

Su’a N.F. Tanielu
